Carpe Diem Farms of Highlands, North Carolina is proud to announce the acquisition of Battersea Tracy, of Battersea Stud in Churchville, VA. Tracy is a strikingly beautiful three-year-old chestnut Morgan with flaxen mane and tail. She is by Caduceus Nicholas, out of Battersea Stud"s best producing mare, Battersea Eiffel. Tracy"s arrival was welcomed by the farm"s other Morgan, CDF Lola"s Promise of Graceful Command (Troutbrook Hallmark by Waseeka in Command x Riviera Firstlady) x Gulfwind Sir William (Treble"s Willy Wild x Gulfwind Dawn Command by Tug Hill Commando) of Gulfwind Morgans of Alachua, Florida. Promise"s father, Gulfwind Sir William, has recently been named the Citrus Cup Regional Western Pleasure Grand Champion and Western Pleasure Champion. For two years William has won the New England Regional Western Pleasure Championship.
Tracy has joined our herd of seven horses at Carpe Diem Farms, a non-profit educational foundation and life enrichment center. Carpe Diem offers therapeutic experiential riding programs for adults and children with a focus on developing harmony between horse and rider. Tracy is the sister to Lisa Singer"s World Champion pair driving horse, Battersea Chancellor, who competed 3 times in the World Pairs Driving Championship in Europe. Tracy"s brother, Battersea Norfolk, was named AMHA individual 2005 therapy horse of the year at the annual convention in Lexington, Ky. He is competing for the NAHRA national award. Carpe Diem Farms is a member of both NAHRA and EFMHA. Look for Tracy to follow in Norfolk"s footsteps.
